Caroline Toshack...........

I was a self-confessed exercise loather until my early 20's when, one day, I just decided that I wanted to run. I began running one lamp-post to another, wondering when it would ever feel easier. It did become easier and actually I found that it became hugely enjoyable too. so much so that I changed my career so that I could help others to feel as good.

I have been helping people to get fit since 1997, Mostly that has been helping people to run, to improve their run and to find the joy of running.

I've coached runners of all abilities, from absolute beginners through to international athletes. I've helped people to run 1 mile, through to 26.2 miles, at a wide variety of paces. Regardless of the level of fitness or ambition, I get so excited when people achieve their running goals, whatever they are.

I, myself, compete primarily now as a duathlete, a sport which comprises of a 10k run, 40k cycle then another 5k run. I first competed for Great Britain in 2004. In 2007 I became European (F35-39) Duathlon Champion. In May this year I defended and retained the title for 2008. I have, however, never forgotten running lamp-post to lamp-post and completing my first mile without stopping ranks up there with completing a marathon!
