It’s all change at the helm of the Edinburgh Running School recently! I founded the ERS in 2008 and have loved every single minute of running it. I've met lots of lovely people - some completely new to running, others not quite so. I've loved seeing people achieve things that they never thought they could, helping others get more out of what they are already doing and generally being able to talk about running day in, day out to whoever would listen!
However, my path has taken a new slant recently leading to me setting up a new pilates studio in the West End of Edinburgh. With this I feel that I can no longer dedicate the time, energy and headspace to the School that it, and you, deserve. So in April, with a huge lump in my throat, I officially handed over “my baby” to the very capable arms of Emma Cochrane. She was already coaching most of the classes, bouncing with ideas, enthusiasm and freshness and is the very perfect person to take the school forward.
If you’ve attended classes with Emma then you’ll already know what I mean. If you haven’t then trust me on this...... go!! If ever you’ve lacked the motivation and inspiration you needed to run then 5 minutes with her and you’ll never look back!
Classes are buzzing, the facebook page (search Edinburgh Running School, then ‘like’ it) is packed with comments and encouragement and park run outings are back on the programme too. I couldn’t be happier and know that the School is just going to go from strength to strength.
So my best wishes to you all in the School’s new phase. Thank you so much to everyone I've ever taught on a course or at a class for your hard work and inspiration.
Caroline Toshack xx
